Haha.. I have used the search took in the archives alec, yes it's handy.. Just not as familiar as I'm used to. I just all but forgot about the old ListSrv groups from back in the day.. But in your defense, there is much less maintenance to a mail chain based forum.
Anyway.. I'm glad it exists, in spite of its perceived shortcomings.
Bugnut! that seems to be the place to go.. I see they were able to find the partnumber via lookup.. as to whether it's in stock is another issue.. Well, That and the price.. lol!
But thanks for the line on them.. I think that site will prove useful..
and thanks again Alec for putting this together.

Hello,I’ve got at 2004 and I get all my parts from:http://www.fourgreen.com/store/Scripts/default.aspOn the right and side there is a search by part #.I’ve never had a problem get gasket sets, rebuild kits or just commonparts.Every good prices, fast shipping and genuine Hyundai/Kia parts. The I3 I think is the replacement for the Atoz/Atos.Hope this helps.

The problem is that the cooler module on thetransmission IS the cooler. It doesn't route hot  ATF to the radiator and cooler ATF back to the transmission.. The little module is an actual heat exchanger mounted right onto the transmission housing. I assume they normally dont go bad, but ithappens as I may have learned.
My assumption is that this issue is an oldone and somewhere down the like the P/O tried to band aid it.
There is a secondary radiator and fan in my08' mounted in the front of the rig under the hood ..
After examining the routing of the hoses itlooks like the cabin heater is first in line before everyone on that circuit. If it's always been this way I'm not sure butthen it goes from the heater core to the secondary radiator then to the transcooler... so the transmission appears to have plenty of cooling as far as watertemp goes.
The heat exchanger on the transmission isHyundai/KIA part # 4610002700 but the parts aren't available through Hyundai orKIA because the dealers don't have access to non US parts lookup.
Here is a site showing the module in somedetail. ТеплообменникАКПП JF402E JF405E 99-up 4610002700 96567484

FYI the transmission is a JATCOJF405E.Master overhaul kits are available throughCobra transmission for about $375 but the cooler is unobtainable.
Theoretically I could go with an externalcooler configuration but I'd have to machine a custom block off plate with portsto take the fluid out and back. I don't see any ATF in the coolant and Ihaven't had the cooler out yet to pressure test it. I'm hoping the contaminationis caused by ingress via filler tube. that way at least the clutch materialadhesive won't be attacked by ethylene glycol. But if in fact the contaminationhappened during my trip and hasn't been lingering I may have caught it quickenough to flush it out with minimal damage. but I still need to test the cooler.
So I'm still putting a request out there fora replacement cooler or if anyone has a spare transmission lying about I'd liketo see what you'd sell it for. Remember this is an '08 I3 and it has the 4cylHyundai engine
Thanks!jon
