[Silly Little Cars] Change out Interceptor steering wheel?

Anyone? I got my old wheel off only to discover the adapter I bought for swapping out a wheel in a Ford Festiva does not work. If you've changed your steering wheel any input is greatly appreciated. I have an awesome wheel waiting to be installed, just need to figure out the proper shaft adapter!

 Has anyone swapped out their steering wheel in their pre-2002 Interceptors for an aftermarket wheel? Mine has seen better days and would like to get something nicer. If someone has done this, was there a certain hub adapter needed to mount the new steering wheel?
