I think that is right. Also I think the reason they check is that they have the information they are just confirming it against the title to make sure it is the same vehicle (like 2 VINs). Seems duplicative but we are talking about DMV.

nonetheless, for my interceptor 2 (which is what you have) you can find a pair of stickers on the transmission end of the engine block:

They are probably thinking the number on the engine block – have to open up the back to expose the engine and there will be a number somewhere on the main block. Its been so long I forget exactly where it is. Might need a flashlight.

HELP I found the VIN on the Dash of my 2004 GO-4 but DMV is looking for a 2nd VIN # Any ideas, you seem to have this licked in Northern California, but I’m in Southern California. I think they called it a National VIN and a Public VIN Thanks in advance for any help and where I might find the additional VIN
