[Silly Little Cars] Looking to buy a cushman

That was my comment about a lawn mower engine. Actually mine had the Suzuki
engine in it also. Nice little engine! It did have pretty good torque at
low speed. When it came to long hills though, that 45 mph would quickly
reduce to 25 mph and labor to get the speed back. That's probably good for
SF, but you would get run over around here doing that. It was water cooled
as well, but was still prone to overheating in this 100 degree San Antonio
weather when driven for more than 15 minutes at 45 mph. They just weren't
made for sustained driving at any speed. At least mine wasn't here.

No problem with any of that with my GO-4, with exception. If I drive for
more than 30 minutes at 60-65 mph with the A/C on and an ambient temp. of
95+, the engine will tend to run a little hot.

Attached is a picture of my old "lemon drop".

Sweet ride! And I agree with your point that the cushman engines (all of
them, especially post 1989 when they switched to water cooled) are much more
than "lawn mower engines" as someone said earlier. The interceptors may make
the engines feel like lawn mower engines by comparison though.

That said, I've always found that Cushmans have plenty of power, and I live
in San Francisco with lots of hills.

everything. Runs perfect. I few minor appearance flaws. Obviously, I
modified the bed with a custom pickup-type box. I did this, as it was a lot
more useful to me for hauling building and yard materials, etc. Please
excuse the photo of our 1958 Isetta. I have owned that car for 40 years.
The Cushman is great for getting around town, parking, etc. Respectful to
other members comments, this is a Suzuki auto-type engine. 660cc, water
cooled, fuel injected, 3 cylinders, and mated to an automatic transmission.
Great acceleration, and cruises at 35-40. Tops at 50. Low miles and hours.
Titled and licensed as a motorcycle. I don't expect to get out what I have
spent, so price is negotiable.
