Rich,
the timing should be set the same as the Aspire. The responsiveness should be better than an aspire due the lower curb weight, but that isn't saying much.

The aspire and festiva distributor assemblies sold as "rebuilt" or "remanufactured" are junkyard assemblies that have been tested and cleaned up. I've seen these priced around $350 from an auto parts store; $35 from a salvage yard. I carry a used spare I tested on the car when I bought it, along with a wrench to replace it in case it ever goes out enroute. This is one of those items that usually gives little or no warning before complete failure.

Guess I'll have to play around with it. lol. I'm not sure what mine is set at now, but it's pretty spirited as is if I put my foot down! I did put Redline D4 fluid in my transmission, so don't know if that cleaned up the valves in the transmission a bit for better transmission response maybe?

>Has anyone ever changed the ignition/timing in their Ford/Mazda engine to reflect what was put in one of the cars. I like not having a governor but it would be nice to have the responsiveness that a car has when I hit the gas!
