You have to download VT paperwork and get a VIN check done by local police. There is a form for that. You will get a tag good for one year too.
If we are facing in the right direction,

I looked at ITS, it looks like it's really hit or miss as to whether you'll get the title/plates. I might just try submitting directly to Vermont DMV and then transferring to my home state.

Also, I am about to strip down and paint the whole shindig and my rubber window seals are cracking. I am worried they won't survive the process. Does anyone know where to find replacements for this? It is two pieces of rubber, one goes on the metal framing in the window hole and holds the glass pane (sort of an H shape if looking at a cut end), and one is a chord of rubber that fits into a center track of the one holding the glass pane sealing it. There's two sizes of it on my Cushman, smaller for the side windows and a thick 1" wide one for the windshield. I have had little success locating it online, but likely using the wrong search terms ('window seal', 'window gasket').

If you don't have that plaque, you might want to get one from another Cushman... I remember when they did the inspection on one of mine, there was a little box on the form that they had to check describing how the plaque was affixed. One of the options was "rivets", as if no one could possibly attach something with rivets themself. So if all else fails, attach one of those plaques with rivets and call it a day.
