Totally agree Alec. I made mistake of not painting over the first tag. Mulitplied like rabbits.
Broken window theory I guess

Lower haight is just as bad. I havw seen Jill's - there is no way anyone could think it is a meter maid

You'd think. Here's one of my Cushmans:

As you can see, it doesn't look a bit like a metermaid anymore, but people still think its a metermaid sometimes.

And if you get even one tag and don't clean it right away, you're doomed.

And by the way Jille, that etching was probably done with acid:

Bastards.

My yellow, painted black, with a huge cat face on the front gets tagged all the time. And yeah they got the REAR window (which apparently is plastic) with some kind of hot device which essentially etched the tags right into my window. Permanently. I gotta move out of the Tenderloin...

My interceptor got totally covered (it was yellow from Sacto not SF blue and white). I painted it and moved it into the garage so no more graffiti. They even painted on the windows. Who does that?

Interesting how different perceptions are from one end of the country to the other. I am sure there is some truth to the tongue-in-cheek reference to the “portable graffiti wall”. I have seen some of the pics where SF locals do mark-up a three wheeler not knowing whether it is used by a cop or not. Take where I live (San Antonio) as an opposite end of the perspective continuum. Marking up another’s vehicle, three wheeler or not, owned by a cop or not, will likely be settled by Smith and Wesson if caught; so no one really ever goes there. Now buildings, that’s a whole different thing.

How cool, a portable wall for graffiti !

Don't they think about these things before they make urban vehicles with vast white panels??

Charley sent me this email about a new metermaid buggy, I thought I'd forward to the list:

Alec,

Here is a link to the latest in electric meter maid vehicles that may become competition for the Westward Industries GO-4 Interceptors. Roanoke, VA has recently purchased several of these to replace their GO-4 Interceptor meter maid fleet.

Wow, super cool. Looks like they're also deployed in Santa Monica. Their website doesn't have very many pics of them, but I pulled one from their goofy Powerpoint presentation, attached.
