THIS IS LONG, SO FEEL FREE TO DIS-REGARD

I'm anticipating a hot summer this year. Last year I cooked in the Cushman,
especially when the Thermostatic radiator fan came on. All the hot air that
was
pulled thru the radiator ended up under my Butt. Insulation helped
somewhat, but
for this Summer I installed a 'pusher' fan
to cool the radiator AND push the hot air to the outside. I first reversed
the
fan wires to make the fan reverse direction(not all DC motors will work this
way), but the 'pitch' of the fan blade was such that there was barely any
air
going thru the radiator(and the fan blade was not removeable on mine)
So, I got this fan on ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/251205927807?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m143\
9.l2649<http://www.ebay.com/itm/251205927807?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649>

for $22 including freight. Its advertised as reversible rotation and
reversible
blades(push and pull). I made some plates to mount the new fan in the
existing
holes for the original fan.
3" X 10" aluminum 1/8" thick was what I had laying around, and that worked
great.
First I drilled & attached these plates to the radiator using the original
fan-holes, then held new fan in place and marked and drilled holes. Mounted
the new fan & wired it up, and it blows!
(that is, it accomplished the desired effect) The fan seems to be on
approximately the same amount of time as the original (In hind-sight I
shudda
put a stopwatch on it to compare scientifically, but that's not how I roll
:)
I'll try to post some pics on the S.L.C. website
With the new fan came some mounting hardware-sorta like cable ties that you
mount thru the radiator core. I'm not a fan(no pun) of this procedure so I
fabbed the plates.
