Alec,
The rear section is off right now. Doesn't look much like the one on Westwards website.
Is open to the cabin (rear window opening) with side windows and a sloping rear hatch. Rear section is bigger that the one they show.
It's mounted on pivots (big bolts at top) so the whole rear secton raises up just above the engine covers and is held up by 4 gas springs. Then you can slide out the framework and engine covers. The rear door opens up and held by 2 gas springs.
It was last driven back in 03.
It sat forgptten in a local college warehouse lot for 8 years, till they decided to auction it off. So it needs some (LOTS) of TLC.
As soon as I'm happy with the mechanicals, I'll put it back together and take some pix.
Don't know why they parked it, only has approx. 9000 miles on it. Things I found so far are minor ( leaking axle seal and tank full of pinholes from rotting gas). Aged out hoses from baking in the sun and freezing temps. Oh yea, almost forgot the mice, ants, chipmunks and the dead squirrel that had taken up residence in it. Well, so much for the seat cushions, head liner and whatever that was left laying in the back.
I've had it about month now. Takes awhile to go thru everything and make sure it's OK or replace. Have changed all the fluids and fresh plugs. Drove it for the first time early this week and it runs out with no issues yet.
Anyway gotta run.
Later,

You have a '96 Go-4 van? I've never seen one but would love to. Got any pics?

Everyone, thanks again.
My 98 is the van type with the enclosed back, so it's a little more top heavy.
Most of my driving is on 45-55 roads. The interstate in my area has a lot of double trailer trucks on them. Speed limit's are 65 which means 75-80 to most folks, including the truckers.
When you get 4 or 5 doubles running together at 70-75 passing you , it's like a fast freight train. Even my full size Chevy gets buffeted around by thier air wake. They'd eat a GO-4 alive, so I just stay clear. No place I need to get to that fast in a GO-4 anyway.
I checked the pix and messages out on the website. Really liked the WSJ bit.
And yes, the "stunt" drivers have me smiling.
Can't help but wonder if an Interceptor would make a good 'drift' car?
Now, where did I put that turbo and bottle of NOS ???

Mike

one full turn (right) increases and one (left) decreases the speed by 5 mph.
That's what I understand, but I just tightened mine, so it's effectively disabled.

Thanks for the quick respones and valuable info.
Of course it was located behind the only panel I DIDN'T check behind.
I assume it's just like the one on my 03 in that one full turn (right) increases and one (left) decreases the speed by 5 mph.
I only cranked up to about 60 top speed.
Thanks again,
Mike

Disconnect the speedo cable, that takes out the gov. then use a GPS for measuring your speed.

Hi All,
Just got another Go-4 (1996) and need help adjusting or disabling the gov.
I've got a 2003 that I drive running parts and had no problem setting the speed up on it, but the 96 is a different story.
I can't even find the darn thing. Manuals are no help and don't have a schematic to easily track it down.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
