The model number on this placard has a dash
following the 6 digit model number. The 2 digits immediately following the dash
are the year of manufacture. It's only a guess what the last two digits are for.
I was at first thinking that this might be the month of manufacture, but further
looking at other Cushman products has seemed to prove this to be wrong. The year
of manufacture checks out though. You can also find the 6 digit model number,
without the dash or the digits following the dash, above the left front wheel on
Trucksters. It will be stamped into center of the black sheet metal trim that
looks like a bumper (the metal is too thin to survive as a bumper). It will be
at eye level and facing directly at you if you are changing the driver's side
front tire.

It can sometimes be seen behind the seat above the
transmission, and possibly on other Cushman sub assemblies, but a number that is
not the same as the name plate model number is most likely a part number
for the piece that it is stamped on. Cushman model numbers and part numbers were
both frequently 6 digit numbers, but the model numbers seem to have always
started with an 8 and were six digits..
