<DIV>The answer to your question would be subjective. What result is the person
wanting? Governor or no governor? Top speed or top speed limited? Quick fix or
proper rewiring? etc....</DIV>
<DIV>When wiring the injectors keep in mind that the ECU tells each injector
when to open/close and for what duration. So one needs to look at the schematic
for the Ford engine or the Hyundai engine and wire accordingly. </DIV>
<DIV>What screws with the ECU is the O2 sensors readings being out of specs from
what the ECU expects. This is a result from the injectors being misfired (kept
closed). This throws the ECU into trying to compensate for the errors.
(Mixture is too lean. O2 levels go out of spec.) This won’t “kill” the ECU, but
does cause it to keep trying to fix a problem it can’t. Because it doesn’t have
full control of the system. And that is what leads the ECU to ceasing proper
function. If one goes to the trouble to hooking up an OBD tester to a GO-4 (yes
it is possible). You’ll most likely see the codes for injector miss fires and/or
O2 sensor reading out of range. These errors set the ECU to turn on the CHECK
ENGINE light. (SIDE NOTE: If you check the light socket in the instrument
cluster, it probably is missing the bulb. Mine was.) This is due to
the governor shutting down the 2 & 3 injectors.</DIV>
<DIV>So, after disabling the governor for a while and test driving for about a
month. The “best” solution for me was to hook it back up and set top speed to
65-70 mph. Never hitting the limit doesn’t cause the governor the misfire the
injectors, thus no codes. The ECU is happy and it runs like a champ.</DIV>
<DIV>Hope this helps.</DIV>
