<div>i got a ticket for parking in a motorcycle lot because it crossed the white lines and took two spaces. it was free parking, so they couldn't issue a meter ticket, but there is a box for parking outside the designated space, so that's it.....if they can
point to something, you lose. <br>

<div>Why would you need the original citation? You can go online and punch in your license plate and get a list of tickets, each of which will say exactly what the printed citation does...</div>

On a side note, on one of my jobs a little while ago, I left one of the houses I was at in Noe Valley, to see that the DPT was at that very moment writing a ticket for the people's car that was parked in their driveway. I asked what the ticket was for, they
said "blocking the sidewalk," nevermind the fact that the sidewalk was one of those giant, residential-sized ones where the driveways are actually real driveways and the sidewalks literally have about 4-5 feet starting after the driveway and before the street.
When I asked how in the world they were blocking the sidewalk, with the car parked all the way in the driveway and the sidewalk beginning behind it, they pointed out the fact that the back of the bumper was "past their property" and was hence "blocking the
sidewalk.' <br>
So, I guess they'll ticket for anything these days. <br>

No need to go down to office - just take ample photos of where/how it was parked, write a super concise, friendly official-looking letter and send it where it says to send letter of contest on the ticket envelope, you'll get off - I've won ever ticket I've
contested; they may be greedy, opportunistic bastards, but thankfully they're not immune to persuasion, reason + logic ;) good luck! Xo N<br>
