Hi all,

I've had a blast with the 1996 Interceptor I bought from a list member a couple of years ago - I gave it proper pink/pearl paint job and used it as an art car for a troupe of "Sweeter Maids" at Burning Man - see pics if you doubt that this was a great idea. ;)

I also used the car as my sole method of transport around the city - once the governer was cut, I often took it across the bridge (it's stable up to 50mph, although I'd go at traffic times so that reduced speed wouldn't be a problem). I don't have to tell you that parking is a breeze, and I love the succession of fear/surprise/joy that you see in people's faces as they watch you drive up, first thinking you're a real Meter Maid then realizing you just drive the silliest car ever.

However, I've purchased a serious little car and am ready for the Maid to find a new, loving home. The engine is in great shape, she starts right up every time without a hitch. I added a stereo with a set of waterproof boat speakers (installed expertly in the panels below the dash), so you will rock out as you drive around in style. For more specs, see the previous owner's description from 2011, below. Sadly, her trunk lid blew off after it had been poorly re-attached and was warped; I haven't tried to re-attach but have been driving without it.

The big BUT on this baby is that she's got issues with her back axle, which apparently is a proprietary part and is difficult to get. I've spoken with Jerry and he said that this is a part he could manufacture, although it would take some time. She's driveable, but one of the back wheels is starting to rub a bit on the wheel well.

As of April 2011:
96 Go-4, 1.3L Ford/Mazda 4 cyl engine, auto trans, new front forks, new front tire and wheel bearing, new rear axle, new battery, fresh oil change/filter/trans oil, valve cover gasket, re upholstered seat, wheel covers, brakes good, heater works, all glass good shape, everything works as it should (it has a revolving roof light, and a Whelen Arrowstick - the arrowstick needs a new controller 0.

(We built a special seat for the back (stainless steel frame,
plywood walls, thick foam seating) so that we could carry more people
around at Burning Man - if you want to use the car in this way, I'll
throw that in as well.)

Asking $1500, give me a call at 310-351-1613 if you want to come give her a run. I'm near the Mission/Bernal border in SF.
Cheers,
Jessica
