[Silly Little Cars] Fork Seals

Good to know.

While my mechanic had the front end up and was changing the front wheel/tire
with the new I just bought, he noticed that there was a lot of oil and dirt
above the seals on the fork and speculated that the seals were probably
blown as there is little damping when you bounce the front manually. It
pogos a bit since it is just the springs absorbing the shock. I figured
since the vehicle was probably used pretty hard by the former municipal
owner, it is probably a good idea just to go ahead and put on new seals.

The cost per seal kit from MME is about $43 + shipping. Seemed a little
high (but what GO-4 parts aren't!!)

My local person, Diane @ White Bear 425-251-5738 said most bearing suppliers
can cross reference the seals--if you get them the number. If thefront rides
hard (like mine is) it may just need oil--#46 hydraulic oil--it's not
leaking.

Nice ride! Do you know where it came from? I've only seen that paint job in
San Francisco, but I'm guessing its some sort of stock pattern. Here's my
girlfriend's, for example:

And attachments work fine on the list by the way.

For my stereo, I put an amp (not a head unit) behind the panel on the
"passenger" side that's just in front of the rear wheel. But alas I think
that area might be full of AC components for you. But you could always put
it in the trunk? Then I routed the audio cable with the 1/8" headphone jack
and a power switch up to the dash. I put two 6" speakers under the seat,
facing my feet, and in the center I put a 10" subwoofer. Sounds
ridiculously good.
